"We poured water on our puddle pad. It beads up. Then we soaked up the water with a cotton diaper and amazing! The wool hardly even felt damp at all, and the mattress underneath stayed dry. Wool is the most wonderful thing! You'll wonder why people bother with smelly vinyl pads that are sweaty and don't breathe.

This is a must-have item, a one-time worthwhile investment. You keep on using it for many years, even after the child is night trained, for just in case.

The cheaper wool puddle pads are scratchy in my experience. I wish you could feel how soft this wool is. Unlike other crib pads I've tried, this one is not prickly at all. It's almost soft enough to be a blanket, but it is really made to be a puddle pad.

I machine wash mine on gentle with Kookaburra Wool Wash once when I got it new. Then if my preschooler has a pee accident, I just take off the bedsheets and let the wool air in place while the sheets are in the wash. Honestly it stays fresh and I have not washed it again."
